Behold, my friend! The epic saga of how I became a code-wrangler.

I've been wrangling the web development for the past 2 years. Here’s a timeline of my thrilling (and occasionally chaotic) adventure.

If you're looking for someone to help build awesome stuff or if you know some one who wants my skills (and maybe share a few laughs), I'm your dev! Ready to make some magic happen.

Graduated high school in Rwanda — studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Then I met what people called "computer programming" ? whatever they called that and was like, "Hold up, this programming thing is kinda awesome?" Suddenly, I was hooked : less test tubes, more tech, maybe even some bio-infused futuristic sci-fi imaginations which was cringe when i remember that.

Late 2023

I started teaching myself some web dev like : HTML, CSS, JavaScript. built up some basic app like note-taking apps, to-do list etc that literally no one asked for. My crowning achievement? Accidentally building a house rental site with React... before I even knew what React was. Peak rookie moves.

Joined some online coding communities and was instantly humbled. Folks were out there building AI overlords while I was still figuring out "what's a function in JavaScript". Then came the legendary ;Tutorial Hell, where every YouTube video promised enlightenment but mostly taught me advanced copy-pasting.

2023 – 2024

Applied to 20+ colleges, still chasing that bio-tech dream. Got a few acceptances... but then saw the $40k USD a year price tag and my wallet wept. The rejections piled up too. Ah, the sweet smell of character development, or so they say.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world was apparently busy launching the next big AI thing. If you weren't coding a world-changing startup from your garage, were you even trying? Felt a bit like a lost puppy in a server room. Still here, though!

April 1, 2025

The final college rejection landed. And no, it wasn't an April Fool joke then – I decided to go all-in on web dev. MERN stack, PostgreSQL, Next.js – you name it, I was probably wrestling with it. Started building actual projects, not for clout or grades, but just to, you know, get good.

Somewhere between a rogue semicolon and a deployment error, I realized this coding path isn't a straight line. It's more like a tangled headphone cable. But every bug squashed and every project shipped felt like leveling up in a video game. XP gained! "i know it's cringe but tryna make a story dawg"

Present & Beyond

So, what am i cooking now now? Well.... am searching for my first dev job. Not just to keep the lights on but to bankroll the real dream: building ridiculously cool stuff where tech and biology high-five. Think sci-fi, but, like, for real.

Still learning, still building, still dreaming bigger than my internet plan can handle. The story's definitely not over; I am just getting to the good part.
